We're in the mood for love... and Romantica!

New music, new arrangements, new dresses... we can’t wait to share them with you on Saturday 16 November at Romantica

But first, we just want to send another big thank you to everyone who came along this past Sunday to Opera & Afternoon Tea! After a couple of months of preparations, including a bundle of new arrangements, we were thrilled to take to the Wattle Park Chalet stage yesterday in front of an essentially capacity crowd of 60+ (both in number and mostly in age, as the event was part of the Seniors Festival!).

Just a bit pleased with how everything went!

Just a bit pleased with how everything went!

Now, we’re hard at work arranging and preparing even more new songs, most of which will be having their first outing in Romantica. While Jessica won’t be losing her Musical Director crown any time soon, some of the other ladies have started dabbling in arranging songs for the group too! The song selection revolves mostly around the theme of love and romance, but there might also be a little lusty lad thrown in there for a bit of extra fun.

Snap, crackle and fizz to the delights of romantic songs by Strauss (Johann, not Richard), Dvořák, Offenbach, Mozart and more. There might be champagne. There might be too much champagne. There might be expounding on love’s philosophy. And that’s just Lara.

Helen prefers a masquerade ball. Mistaken identities and mystery loves. You never quite know what you’re going to get. Or whom...

We will be including a few favourites from our Concordia program, as long as they behave and stick with the theme. Zoe is very strict about themes; just ask about her themed costume parties.

And join us for afternoon tea after the concert. We’d love to have a chat, and find out what your favourite love songs are. Maybe we can sing them next time.
